Orthopedics

Fractures, joint pain and getting you moving again

In short

Orthopedic services at Sreshta Multi Speciality Hospitals cover fracture fixation, joint pain, arthritis, sports injuries and spine related back pain. Dr. Anjireddy Bommareddy, an orthopedic surgeon with an MS in Orthopaedics, handles trauma and elective procedures with on site digital X-ray and an operating theatre available at all hours.

Two kinds of patients come to orthopedics. There is the road accident at eleven at night with a broken leg, and there is the fifty five year old whose knees have been aching for two years. They need completely different things from us, and both should get it in the same building.

For trauma, speed matters. Digital X-ray, theatre and anaesthesia are all available at night. For long standing joint pain, what matters is not rushing to surgery. Physiotherapy, weight management and injections resolve a great deal of knee pain, and we work through those first.

01

X-ray and theatre through the night

Trauma does not wait for morning. Imaging, anaesthesia and the operating theatre stay available for emergencies.

02

Surgery is not the first answer

A large share of knee and back pain improves with physiotherapy, weight reduction and injections. We try those before recommending an operation.

03

Rehabilitation is part of the plan

Fixing the bone is half the job. Your discharge includes a written exercise plan and follow up until you are back to normal function.

Questions

Orthopedics, answered

Often not. Most knee osteoarthritis is managed with physiotherapy to strengthen the muscles around the joint, weight reduction where relevant, pain control and sometimes injections. Surgery is considered when pain limits daily life despite all of that.

Come straight to casualty. Digital X-ray is on site and available at night, so the fracture is imaged and either set or scheduled for fixation without waiting for an outside scan centre to open.

Yes, both after surgery and as treatment in its own right for back pain, frozen shoulder and arthritis. Sessions are supervised and you are given exercises to continue at home.
