The obstetrics and gynecology department at Sreshta Multi Speciality Hospitals handles antenatal care, normal and caesarean deliveries, high risk pregnancy, infertility treatment and laparoscopic gynaec surgery. Consultations are led by Dr. Spandana Nalagandla, an obstetrician and gynecologist trained in laparoscopic and robotic surgery with a fellowship in assisted reproductive technology.
Most women who walk into our OPD are not here for an emergency. They are here because something changed and they want a straight answer about it. A missed period, pain that used to be manageable, a scan report they did not understand, or the decision to start trying for a baby. We built this department around giving that answer clearly, in the first visit where possible.
For pregnancy, you see the same consultant from the first scan to the delivery room. That continuity matters more than most people expect. By the third trimester your doctor already knows your history, your blood pressure pattern and how you want the birth to go, so nothing has to be explained twice at two in the morning.

Where a laparoscopic approach is safe, we use it. Smaller cuts, less blood loss and most patients home within two days.

Dr. Spandana Nalagandla leads the department. She holds an MBBS and MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, a Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery, a fellowship in assisted reproductive technology and a diploma in cosmetic gynaecology. She practises as an obstetrician, gynecologist, infertility specialist and laparoscopic and robotic surgeon.
Both. We encourage normal delivery wherever it is safe for the mother and baby, and we only move to a caesarean when there is a clinical reason for it. That reason is explained to you and your family before the decision is taken.
As soon as a home test is positive, usually around six weeks. The first visit confirms the pregnancy on scan, checks that it is inside the uterus, and starts folic acid along with the baseline blood tests.
Yes. We handle the full evaluation for both partners, follicular monitoring, ovulation induction and intrauterine insemination. Couples who need IVF are guided to a partner centre with their complete workup already done, so nothing is repeated.
